Dettol was first developed in the late 1920s by Reckitt & Sons, a British company, as a disinfectant for hospitals.
The original formula was created by Dr. Gustav Raupenstrauch, a German scientist, who introduced the concept of using antiseptics for personal hygiene.
Initially, Dettol was primarily used in hospitals and medical settings to disinfect surfaces and prevent the spread of infections.
