Police in Sydney have classified the wounding of Bishop Marie Emmanuel during a church service as a "terrorist act."

The incident occurred at Christ the Good Shepherd Church in the western suburb of Wakeley while Bishop Emmanuel was presiding over a live-streamed service. A suspected attacker was noticed by parishioners, prompting immediate intervention as screams echoed through the church.
