A TALE OF TWO STORIES
One thing stands out in about 12 years of the digital currency space; it was a semi-clandestine world where participants fend for themselves. Many investors lost their savings to some exchange platforms owing to difficult recipient address formats. The usual response then was, ‘there is nothing we can do to retrieve your loss.’ Yet, these Exchanges dished out wrong network address options for unsuspecting newbies. High fees characterised the space. To get to certain assets, only difficult and dangerous terrains existed. Transfer of assets sometimes took twenty-four hours to hit the destination and transfer fees were outrageously high. Many fell into the ‘leverage’s’ traps and never survived the aftermath. They arbitrarily seized accounts and forced owners into assets forfeiture. No uniformity of purpose and many more issues befell those times. This was the stark reality when I entered the space...
