Argos Project: Data Journalism Workshop.

On May 19 and 20 of this year, a workshop on Data Journalism was held at the President Hotel in the city of Caracas by the ARGOS project, an initiative promoted by A.C. Consorcio and the Swiss Embassy in Venezuela. <br>

This activity was attended by 35 people, including journalists and communicators from different areas of the country, as well as members of observatories and civil society organizations from the states of Miranda, Vargas, Carabobo, Merida, Sucre and Trujillo, who through networking strengthened their institutional links for the articulation of efforts in future activities.

Our foundation counted with the participation of its president Jose Ocanto, who thanks to the invitation of the organizers was able to learn about this form of journalistic work where topics such as: data journalism, storytelling with figures, infographics designs, access to public information, as well as issues of common interest at the legal level from the hand of the various speakers.

Venezuelan personalities such as Oscar Schlender, who is the general coordinator of the Argos Project and correspondent in Venezuela for Deutsche Welle, Yaya Andueza, Alí Daniels, Elvianys Díaz and Daniel Vargas provided a matrix of knowledge focused on the different areas addressed by the workshop.

This type of activities allows us to have a different look at access to information and how to carry out the collection of key data for dissemination, this motivated by the fact that official institutions in the country have a policy in which official data have many years without being disseminated and organizations, foundations, journalists and others must lead to a more complex investigative process to bring up issues of national relevance.
